So as many of you may know, Hunting Season is just around the corner...yes this is as big of a deal as Christmas is in the Ashby household, and many other households out there :) But for the first time I'm actually pretty excited about it, because I get to be more involved this year. Last year, we had only been married four months, and I had to work every weekend in August, and he left me every weekend to go Hunting. I missed him like crazy and felt very left out. This year however, I have most weekends off in August so I get to go with him! I don't have my hunters' safety card yet so I can't actually hunt with him, but I'm gonna go camping with him and go out with him whenever I can, and hope that I'm there with him if he gets something. He's all excited too, he bought me a bunch of camo so that I didn't go with him in my bright yellow jump suit :).
Today was the first part of preparation that I've been involved with. We went up onto the mountain today for a few hours to go spotting. We decked out in our camo gear and drove clear up above the Horseshoe down in Sanpete county, because we had went down for the 24th of July celebrations (pictures to come soon). We hiked out onto the ledge and looking around Buck said, "It feels like we're on top of the world up here." And it did. It was so pretty and peaceful up there. It was fun because we ended up seeing lots of doe. It was fun.
This is the picture taken after the "falling on my back" attempt :)
If it wasn't for that spotting scope you wouldn't be able to see him
This is his happy face right after finding the deer in his scope
The deer were able to see us because I had my Nikes on. I need camo shoes
Quick funny story: So I wanted to take our picture right? So we set the camera up and turn the timer on. I had Buck stand where we wanted to be. We were on the slope of the mountain so the camera was a little higher up on a rock. I hit the button and ran down the mountain a few feet so I could make it on time. Running down the mountain wasn't a problem, and Buck had his arm out waiting for me, it was the sudden stop I tried to make to stand next to Buck that was the problem. I meant to stop and my feel slid right out from underneath me and I went flat onto my back. It was hilarious I thought.

Is that where Buck hunts? because that is where Matt and his family hunt. We where up there on the 24th too. It is so pretty this time a year.
I love the horseshoe that is where Matt proposed to me.

Annalee you are so funny! I was only giving you shiz at the derby...we still love you :)
I've never been up Horseshoe. It looks beautiful, when does Buck's hunt start? Chris is doing the deer sometime in August and then he's got his brothers Moose hunt in September so he'll be busy!
That's cool that he bought and decked you out in camo... I'm sure it'll be fun to go with him, hunting.
Good Luck Buck on your upcoming hunt!
