This year's Valentine's started off on friday by Buck sending this gorgeous flower arrangment to my work for me. We both had to work Friday this year, which was a bummer because I try to make Valentines a three day weekend extravaganza :)
Saturday was our traditional date of going to Chuck-a-Rama to eat, and then we saw the movie, True Grit in the theater. I way liked it, and you can totally tell that I'm pregnant because I bawled in the end when Little Blackie dies. Like, sobbed. I was a mess. I still really liked the movie though :)

Sunday was the most fun and exciting day! I got us fresh, cooked, whole Lobsters to eat, and we had a candle-lit dinner with our champagne flutes and cider, and very good tasting fresh lobster on our camping table because we still do not have a full kitchen yet. It was such a hit! Buck had no idea what I was doing and I made him sit in our bedroom so I could prepare everything without him seeing it. He seriously loved it, and I loved that everything worked out and wasn't a flop. (Referring to Valentine's breakfast 2009. Total flop, if you remember reading about it)

I was so pleased with how everything turned out, and tasted!
It looks like the lobster is attacking his face

I LOVED the little plastic champagne flutes. And Buck loved his new camo shirt he got :)

Nom, nom, nom...everything was so good.

Even my cake turned out this year! I didn't have a heart shaped pan, so I just baked it in a regular 9x13 pan and then just cut out the size of heart that I wanted and decorated it with frosting, sixlets, and chocolate covered strawberries that I did in fact dip myself, because they were such a big hit last year. I'm thinking they just became a Valentine's tradition as well.

Buck loved everything, and it was so much fun for us. I seriously love Valentine's Day, everything about it! I love being lovey and cheesey, and using all of the cheesey stuff, like the decorations and the red and pink, everything. Buck is becoming a huge fan very quickly, and he was never really into Valentine's. I look forward to it every year and I start planning immediately afterwards for what I'm gonna do for the next year!
Next year will be way fun too, because I'll have two guys in my life to surprise with super-special celebrations :)
