Croup

Sickness finally befell Kallan.  We have been so lucky and blessed with him, he's never been sick until 18 months old. I mean he'd have an occasional teething fever, but no colds, no flu, not even an ear infection. So lucky. So I couldn't complain when he got croup a couple months ago right before Halloween.  It started with fevers and then the barking cough and wheezing came. We took him in just to be safe but he didn't have it badly enough to need any treatment other than tylenol and motrin. In the mornings he would just lay in our bed with us.

At night I would bundle him up all cozy and take him for walks so he could breathe the cool air.  It worked like a charm and he fell asleep while I walked.

Ha I thought he looked adorable all bundled up.  So it really wasn't too bad, the part that sucked was we were all sick for Halloween. Kallan still had croup and no engery, and me and Buck had a stomach virus.  Buck got the night off and everything but all 3 of us had fevers, no energy, and needed to be fairly close to a bathroom so we stayed indoors and went to bed early.  I'm so sad about it because I wanted to take Kallan trick-or-treating so badly.  But we were all so miserable just lying around that I couldn't even muster it. Next year!
I did put him in his costume at the beginning of the month to see how it fit and got this one picture, which I love and I'm so happy I did. So this was his only part of Halloween this year :(
