Gettaway

We were very lucky and spoiled to get to take one little weekend and just get away. Just me and Buck.  We dropped Kallan off at my parents' house friday night, (which was a treat for him as well) and then we woke up Saturday morning and drove up to Midway to stay for two nights.  We were on a budget and it just so happens that they have free concerts in the park every Saturday night all summer long.

The group performing that night was Bluegrass and Celtic genre so we were thrilled and totally went.  We really only spent money on our meals. 

 We first went and ate at this little mexican joint called Tarahumara and it did not disappoint.  They have a salsa bar where you can try all kinds of salsa with your meal.  We then headed to the park for the concert.  We even were given a little card to redeem for a free piece of homemade fudge at the giftshop so we sat and ate free fudge enjoying a free concert.  Free is perfect for a budget!  We spent a few hours each day at the pool, relaxing and reading, talking and cooling off in the water, which was the perfect temperature.  We made a rule at the beginning of the weekend that we were not allowed to talk about the house or any work or such.

 Since Buck has to work all week and we only have weekend days, we tried to make the most out of our short trip.  After the pool on sunday we ate at a little place right on main street in town called the Cafe Galleria and it too was so good.  It's maily Italian and their pizzas are amazing. They also have homemade Gelato which was just as amazing. We liked it so much we went back there for breakfast monday morning!

 After we ate we did some sight seeing.  We drove into Heber City and then up to Park City and walked up and down Historic Main Street just to window shop.  We came away with a sunburn and some chocolate from the chocolate facorty up there.

Since it was just the two of us, we didn't get as many pictures as I would've liked because it's hard to ask people to take them for us because they don't know how to use my giant Cannon so all these were taken where we could set the camera up somewhere and use the timer.  We spent most of the time in our room hanging out and talking, giving massages, eating, and just simply relaxing and enjoying each other.  Such a treat before we had to our family and the craziness in two weeks.  And it was so good for Kallan to get out of our house and have all the attention on him from grandma and grandpa. He didn't want to come home and hasn't stopped asking for grandpa. :)  Much needed and appreciated little weekend gettaway. We need more of these :)
