Three Months

 Dear Baby Kallan,

Everyone told me before you came to cherish everything because it goes by fast. I thought that gave me an idea of how fast it would go, but I can't even believe you're already 3 months old. You've changed and developed so much, and I absolutely have loved every minute of it. Seeing you grow, and progress, and learn, makes me so happy and I never knew I would love being your Mommy this much. You've completed so many milestones just in this last month alone! You're first one was you started laughing, just after your 3rd month birthday. This one is my favorite, and I could sit and do the craziest things just to hear that little chuckle erupt from your little chubby belly. It's still pretty new and rare, so it's always such a thrill whenever we get to hear it. You love your bouncer, your Bumbo and most of all, your swing. Your swing has been my saving grace on some of those rough belly-aching nights. You just recently started sitting in your Bumbo chair, and you like it, but not for too long, because you can't kick your legs in it. You already think that you're quite the big boy; you do not like to be held like a baby. You have to be sitting up so you can be involved in all of the action going on around you. You love movement. You will sit and stare and just baby babble to the ceiling fans, and you already like watching TV, especially the Cat In The Hat Adventures. You love music, and even though your Mommy can't carry a tune in a bucket, you always seem comforted whenever I sing to you. You love your Daddy, and my favorite time of day is when you and Daddy just sit and talk to each other, telling stories and watching the fighter jet planes, and Nascar. (At least daddy thinks you like Nascar) :) We just started going to the pool, and you love the water! You sit in there with Mommy and splash your arms and kick your legs, and even laugh when I put you in the float ring. You love Keg. He gives you big puppy kisses from your chin to your forehead in one swipe, and you just start smiling.

Your second big milestone is you found your toes! I love watching you grab them, and try your hardest to get them into your mouth, but you just haven't quite gotten that far.  Soon though little chub, you'll be sucking on them I'm sure.  You love to hold them when I'm changing your diaper mostly, and whenever I lay you on the floor to kick.  You love pumping your little legs in the air as fast as you can.  You nurse very well from Mommy, and take a bottle without any trouble for Daddy.  Your poor little belly hasn't tolerated some things though so far, such as Mommy can't drink any milk, or have any chocolate.  I can't have any broccily or cauliflower or avacados, I have to limit the hot stuff, spices, and the garlic.  You were a very gassy infant, but you're getting to the point now where you release it all on your own, and you're finally starting to poop on your own as well, every once in a while with the help of some prune juice.  You love the camera, which is a very important thing in this family because with the Mommy you have, there will be a camera in your face pretty much your entire life :).

Your third big milestone that you just accomplished yesterday, is you rolled all the way over all by yourself. Twice! Mommy squealed with joy and laughter, (I'm such a rookie) and ran for both cameras. I remember about a month and a half ago when you just barely started making your little baby goos and gaas. And you've only become louder and more vocal since then. You love your baths, unless your hungry but you usually don't like doing anything when you're hungry except eating. Go figure right? :)

Your schedule right now is, you still eat pretty much every two hours. Sometimes you can go for three hours or more, but not very often. You like your milk and you do not miss a meal. You've been a good night sleeper mostly from the get-go, with a few relapses here and there. Your record so far is 10 1/2 hours. I had to keep getting up to check on you, and I even wondered if I was going to have to wake you to eat, because I was about to explode. Haha I think I acutally sleep better when you only sleep for six hours at a time because then I don't worry and have to keep checking on you. (Mommy may or may not be a little paranoid) Your napping schedule throughout the day is always different. Some days you wont go down at all, some you only cat-nap all day for half hour increments, and other days you sleep for a couple hours at a time. And you usually don't go to bed for the night until 10:00 PM. (Hopefully this will be changing in the future) You're just like your Mommy though when it comes to sleeping in, lazy bum, not getting up till after noon some days. :) You know who I am now, and I love coming in to get you after you wake up, because you have the biggest smiling greetings for me.  I can talk to you now and you turn your head to my voice, and you follow me with your head when I walk around the room.

You can't even begin to imagine how much I love you little mister, and how much I love being your mom.  I can't wait to keep watching you grow, and feel so blessed every day that I had the opportunity to become a parent.  I've also been blessed with, (or recently given) patience because when it comes to you, I contstantly surprise myself at the patience I have.  Even when we've been up all night, and you have a belly ache and the fussies, I never find myself growing frustrated with you, which is something I never knew I had.  I was put here to be your mom and I don't know what I ever did without you.  Happy 3 months little man.

I love you.
Love, Mommy
