Last week when we had those amazing warm days, we jumped on the ban-wagon and took advantage of being outside along with every other cooped up mommy and kids from the winter. It was amazing. Sunshine really is good for the soul and who doesn't love vitamin D? We pulled out the stroller and this little critic gave the day Two Thumbs UP!
Buck found these sunglasses for him and he loves them. Has to have them everywhere we go. We call them his "cool dudes" because whenever he has them on he is a really cool dude. He'll say, "cool doo" whenever we're leaving so he can wear them. And whenever his hat is not MIA he'll wear it too
We went to the little park by our library and spent the whole afternoon there, just soaking it up and getting all the wintery jitters worked out.
I seriously am in love with the Springville Library. It's so big, and so kid friendly and oriented. 3 times a week they have a little thing just for toddlers ages 1-3. They do story time, and have puppets, and we learn a new letter every week, singing time, the works. Each one only last about 40 minutes and then they have little tables with toys on them for the kids to play with. I check out 5-10 children's books for him for the week so I never have to buy any but get to ready a grundle to him. Sad story though, Kallan isn't a fan of reading books. Ugh I hate it because I LOVE books and love reading to him. He wont sit with me while I read, he'll try to kick the book, or shut it, he'll cover my mouth with his hand, and then he'll push away from me and run from the room. I'm not giving up though, I follow him around and read to him, and I put him in his crib for his bedtime story so he can't get away. Every once in a while I can get him to sit through one. And he can't look at them without me or Buck because he'll tear the pages out, which the library frowns upon, and thus so does my wallet. Maybe one day he'll like books, if I keep at it. It's been so nice to have through the winter though, because it gets us out of the house, and gives him entertainment and child interaction. And I've also noticed that since we've cut more than half of his TV time out, (remember I pretty much used it as a baby sitter since I was so sick with pregnancy) and I've been aggressive with reading to him, his vocabulary has flourished. He went from saying about 10 words to more than double that, plus forming sentences. So, something seems to be working, and I'll take it :)

"...I may not be a poet, 'cause I ain't so good on words. I may not stand before you like a Knight in Shining Armor. I may not be the best of Singers, there's better guys I've heard. I may not drive a Fancy car, I don't know what it's for. I may not be the one who gets to shower you with Diamonds. I may not be a Rich Man, but you can't call me Poor, 'cause I know how to Love You Well." -Tim Mcgraw

Jilli used to do the same thing with books. Now she brings me a huge pile daily and insists on reading them all!
