2 and an 8

So along with hunting season comes Buck's birthday, which is pretty convenient for getting hunting equipment. It actually makes it nice because he'll always need equipment so whatever we get I can say, "Okay, that's your birthday present." But I do try my best to make it special for him, because he's so good to me and deserves it. So this year I decided to go with the whole party thing. And it was a surprise. I sent out invitations to a bunch of friends and co-workers, and my really good friends Heather and Kyle were so nice to let us have it at their home. My other really awesome friend Allie, came all the way up from down south to be here for it. It was so good to see her! And she helped me prepare most of the food. Buck thought we were going out to eat to Tucanos for his birthday, so we got all ready to go and I told hime we had dinner reservations at 6:15, but I told him I had a surprise birthday present I had hid at Heather's house because I didn't want him to find it before his birthday. So I blindfolded him, as you can see below and when we showed up, I took it off and everyone yelled, SURPRISE! He was like, "Wow!" I did it old western themed, (except for the cake, I ran out of time to make a really cool cowboy hat cake or cowboy boot cake) but for the most part it worked out pretty good.

*Learning experience side note: Don't google, easy potato salad recipe and expect something good. You'll get something orange. Potato salad takes more than 8 minutes to make. Even if it's an easy recipe

He looks thrilled doesn't he?
I took off the blindfold and then he just stood there and rubbed his eyes.

My birthday boy :)

We had lots of food! Thanks to everyone who helped and contributed. It was an awesome BBQ and Buch said he liked it better than Tucanos!
All of the awesome girls who helped me out

John Wayne was our guest star :)
My good buddy Rackman from the Fire Dept. came
This is the special, "Birthday boy boot cup"
Enough said? This was even after Heather tried to fix it.
It was even complete with a pinata
Watch out for the outlaws

Buck diagnosed me with Flailing Elbows Disease

Buck loved his birthday presents! Thanks everyone :)

Okay so it's a typical cake, but there are cowboy boot shaped candles on it

All in all it was a good night, and Buck really loved it. The cutest part about the night was on our way home, he was thanking me for the party and everything, and I told him that our really close friend Allie, drove up 3 hours just to come to his party and see us and he said, "Wow really? That make me feel like the MVP." I thought it was awesome

You're such a cute wife :)

Please don't tell me you put ketchup in that potato salad.

(really though...other than boiling the potatoes and eggs, potato salad takes less than 10 minutes to make. I'll give you my DELISH, non-orange recipe)

You are so awesome. Happy Birthday to Buck (a little late). Just in case you ever need it I have a really easy, and good, recipe for potato salad.
