Pioneer Day 2013

My hometown has celebrated Pioneer Day instead of the 4th of July since as long as I can remember.  For all Fairview residents, it was just as exciting as Christmas.  I love going to Fairview over any where in the state, including Fiesta Days in Spanish Fork (which is still really fun from when I have been)  However, it's hard because it's no longer as homey and small town feeling as I remember when I was younger.  It used to be all about having a good time and putting on a good show at the Demolition Derby.  Now the ticket prices are outrageous, and they make you pay the same price not only for kids but for little tiny babies, like my newborn who sat in my arms the entire time.  And the Derby is all about politics and winning anymore, and way competetive.  Drivers will team up on other people and wont try to put on a good show, they just want to win to get their money.  But that's how it's becoming everywhere with everything in the world anymore right? It's still fun to go and I still love it but it's sad to see these changes.

Kallan loved the parade. It was cloud cover so it wasn't blazing hot which was really nice

And Jace slept through everything :)

My brother was in the derby again and he did better than last year! He made it into the final round this year and almost won it until his driveline fell out again. It was fun to cheer for him though

I may not drive a Fancy car, I don't know what it's for. I may not be the one who gets to shower you with Diamonds. I may not be a Rich Man, but you can't call me Poor, 'cause I know how to Love You Well." -Tim Mcgraw
