Christmas this year was way fun. Kallan understood what presents are, and he was so excited to tear the paper off of them. He still doesn't grasp the whole Santa concept yet, but most likely next year for sure. We got spoiled, as we do every year.
Buck and I happened to get really good deals on each others' presents this year, so we both knew what we were getting, which isn't as fun. But I really really really love my gift. Buck got me a new sewing machine for Christmas, that quilts too. It was too good to pass up. It wasn't even a Black Friday sale, they had just accidentally marked it way lower than they were supposed to by accident so they had to honor the sale price. It was more than half off. I love it. Buck got some real leather with lots of leather working tools. He got a good deal as well. We also took advantage of Jace not understanding Christmas and just gave him Kallan's hand me down baby toys, which he loves just as well. So Kallan was basically the only one who had gifts to open from Santa on Christmas morning. We spent Christmas Eve as per tradition up in Ogden with my mom's side of the family. My poor grandma has been sick most of this last year. She caught pneumonia this last fall and it got her so badly she was put in the ICU and had to be intubated. Once out of her coma, they placed a tracheostomy so she' been breathing through her neck for the last two months. She's finally breathing on her own again, but she's still a skilled care center to help her rehab back to health so she can go home. So we had our family party at the care center to be with her. She was exhausted but enjoyed seeing everyone. Afterwards my little family came home to our own house so Santa could leave presents for the boys at our home.
After opening gifts and our stockings, we got ready to head down to Grandma and Grandpa's house to open presents.
