Kallan

...this little boy!  He is 2 years and 8 months old.  There are so many words I could use to decribe him.  He is everything I hoped he would be in a son, with some extra!  He is ME to a T.  You know the curse from your parents? Yeah, worked on me because I totally had one JUST like me.  Maybe that's why I like him so much? :)
He is everything.  He has his moments, but he is a good kid.  We're getting ready to start potty training. (I'm going to do it but I just need a few days off work to be able to commit all my time to it) But he likes to pee in the big boy potty before his bath every night.  He gets "Peepee treats" when he goes and he thinks that's pretty neat.  This picture below was right after his bath, so that's why he's naked.  He was just sitting there and saw the popcorn he had been hauling around and I thought it looked hilarious.

 Random every day pics from my phone. Nothing like mastering the duck face early.

 This kid is so happy and funny.  Don't get me wrong, he's a little pill too and can push every button we have.  But most days we barely get anything done because we're playing or having some sort of adventure.  Oh, and he's in his independent phase now, and his most common phrase is, "I do it Mommy" or "Help you" which means he wants to do it.  He wants to do everything without any help from mom or dad.  And he's obsessed with pajamas.  He loves dressing himself, and he always wants jammies.  Even when we're going somewhere.  And as someone who basically lives in sweat pants or scrubs, who am I to argue with that? Unless you're Heather Johnson, you can't go wrong with jammies.  Especially if you're going to Wal Mart.

He is so curious, and into everything. He is speaking so much now too. I can carry on a conversation with him and it's just crazy.  Every morning he comes upstairs from his room, and our conversation goes like this every time:
Kallan: "Mommy? You awake?"
Me: "Yes baby, I'm awake."
Kallan: "You sleep good Mommy?"
Me: "Yeah, I slept good. Did you sleep good?"
Kallan: "Uh-huh."

If I say OW to anything, he comes right over and asks me if I'm okay.  At night when we tuck him into bed, he says a sequence of phrases including; Goodnight, sleep tight. See you in the morning. I miss you already. Sleep good. Sweet Dreams. You're my favorite. I yuv you.

He can repeat everything we tell him, but he has come up with some things on his own. I'll list some:

Foofie=Movie
Stick=Bandaid
Bomay Truck=Monster Truck
Ses-seal=Cereal
Sweet Sweet=Cooking Spray (because that's the sound the spray makes, right?)
Book=iPad

He's starting to ask me Why? and What are you doing? He recognizes people by the cars they drive.  When ever he sees a car that looks like my mom's, he points to it and starts yelling, "Grandma!" and "Grandma house!"  He thinks he's a dog.  He barks anytime anyone knocks at the door, he smells your legs, he tries to lick you, he likes to put his food on the floor and lay on his stomach and eat it with out his hands.  He loves to be outside still, and his favorite thing is to ride his bike.  He is obsessed with trucks and cars, and has kept HotWheels in business. His second favorite thing is Dinosaurs. Third favorite is trains.  I can't believe how big he is already.  He has gotten way better with Jace, and loves to help me.  He has to be involved with anything we are doing with Jace, like feeding him, changing him, bathing him, etc. He always has to hug and kiss him before he goes down for a nap, and just recently, Kallan has started referring to himself in third person, calling himself, Baby Kallan.  He says, "Baby Kallan do it", "Baby Kallan wants applesauce", "Baby Kallan is hungry", "Baby Kallan sits on the couch", "Mommy, come help Baby Kallan". Things like that.  Only he uses a Y in place of his L's, so he says his name like, "Ka-yan".  He is so funny.  He's a pretty good kid. I watch him play with other kids, both ones he knows and ones he doesn't, like when we go to the library, and for the most part he plays really well with them.  I'm excited to see all the new things he's doing and learning, but sad at the same time that he's getting so big and grown up.  He is for sure a Daddy's Boy.  He loves all things boy and all things his daddy does.  And I love it more than anything.
