Buck's Birthday

Buck turned 32 on the 20th of this month.  Crazy to think that I met him when he was 25. 7 years already?? Wow. :) So Buck has never liked cake, but has always loved pie.  So we decided it would be a fun tradition to create within our own little family to have pie for our birthdays instead of cake. (Except maybe when the boys have birthday parties, because you have to have a cute cake to match their party theme) but when celebrating just within our little family, we'll have pie.  So I never learned how to bake growing up, and I actually made my first pie ever like last year.  Aaaand I didn't even make the crust, I used store bought pie crust!  Well I've finally learned and practiced enough that I can make homemade pies from scratch, crust and all. And I like it!  Buck's favorite pie ever is strawberry rhubarb.  Well I didn't know where to get rhubard so instead I made him a peach pie.  It's not the prettiest one ever, but it didn't taste bad at all.  And I was trying to make a 3 and a 2 with the candles and it was just too hard to put them in this pie.  So I just threw some in there so he'd have something to blow out.

 

 And here's his birthday card from the boys.  Jace's feet make up the grass, and Kallan made the Elk. Don't feel too bad, Buck couldn't tell it was an Elk either. But it's a 5 point Elk :)
